Meet your photographer!

Hi, I’m Evie — the heart behind Sons + Sunlight Photography.

My love for photography started when I was about eight years old, after I got my very first digital camera for Christmas—and honestly, I’ve had some sort of camera in my hand ever since. What started as me taking way too many pictures of everything turned into something much bigger over time.

In high school, I spent four years as a yearbook photographer and eventually became the senior editor over the photography section. That’s where my teacher, Mary, taught me how to actually use a camera properly (instead of just hoping for the best) and helped shape the way I see and capture moments today.

These days, I’m a wife, a mama to five boys (yes… five 😅), and life is loud, busy, and full of energy at all times. There’s never a dull moment in our house, which is probably why I’m so used to catching moments quickly—because if you blink, you’ll miss it. I always have a camera or my phone nearby… because with this crew, you just never know what’s about to happen.

Photography has always been part of my everyday life, but it became something much deeper after losing both of my parents. Because I’ve spent years taking photos of everything, I now have so many memories of them to hold onto. I get to share those moments and stories with my children, and having those images to go along with them makes it that much more special.

That’s when it really clicked for me—photos aren’t just pictures… they’re pieces of your story.

So I took something I’ve always loved (and let’s be honest, something I was already doing 24/7 anyway) and turned it into my business. Sons + Sunlight Photography was built from a place of love, family, and a deep desire to give others the same thing I value so much—memories that last long after the moment is gone.
